On April 18, 2018, INDATA hosted its second regional client conference at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in sunny Southern California. Clients visited not only from CA but from across the U.S. and from as far away as London.
INDATA clients were introduced to Architect AI, the investment industry’s first portfolio construction, modeling, rebalancing, and reporting solution based on artificial intelligence and machine learning. A demonstration of Epic OMS, the next-generation version of INDATA’s industry-leading front-office trading solution, was also provided.
The conference focused on a number of industry topics and trends and clients were asked to rank their priorities. In terms of front office, the number one priority for clients was to do more with their current providers with 50% of clients responding, followed by containing or reducing costs and then keeping up with regulatory and compliance matters. In terms of system usage, the number one priority was providing more sophisticated tools for portfolio managers and other front office staff (50%), followed by gaining greater efficiencies on the trading desk and finally gaining greater compliance capabilities.
For back office, the number one priority was containing or reducing costs (50%), followed by a tie between utilizing new technology and outsourcing services to create efficiencies in back office. From a system standpoint, utilizing expanded reconciliation services and capabilities was number one, followed by expanded data services, and finally other considerations.
In addition, clients were informed on all aspects of INDATA’s software, technology, and services initiatives. Client presentations included Bailard, Inc. presenting on how they utilize INDATA EOD (End Of Day) pricing to reduce costs and streamline operations. On the tech side of things, clients were briefed on how technologies like the cloud, big data, and APIs all relate to each other and are the foundation for AI and machine learning in the world of investment management.
INDATA client Pzena Investment Management gave a presentation during the technology workshop on how they have implemented Epic Data API to create business intelligence (BI) reporting dashboards for their key executives including their CEO, including mobile reports and visualizations.
A number of clients also took the opportunity to visit INDATA’s CA office to meet with some of the company’s principals and department heads, in addition to receiving in-depth training on their areas of interest.
The regional conference format, which was started last year, takes the same great content as our larger User Conference and condenses it into a one-day format, reducing the time commitment for attendance as well as the cost for clients. Locations were selected based on INDATA’s primary office locations (Greenwich, San Diego, London), with the last INDATA regional conference planned for London in the coming quarters. INDATA will then be returning to its large conference, multi-day event format.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our future conferences!
